Bristol Nordic Walking Business Support Manager required

A different and fun part-time role in an expanding, professional fitness company. We started in 2010 with one instructor and now in 2018 we have grown to 9 instructors, we run 34 walks every week and we’ve expanded into courses and holidays.
As we are a small business we like to try new things so your job will be to keep us organised and running smoothly, plus you’ll play a big role in customer care. Our constantly changing and growing business means your role will always be varied, interesting and bring new challenges. One of your main roles will be to streamline our current processes so you’ll need to enjoy organisation and love getting to grips with detail.
This role has excellent potential in the future. As well as being the stabilising force that keeps the club running smoothly your role may grow into much more. We’ll teach you all about Nordic walking so you are confident to talk with clients (although you don't have to be into fitness) and if we keep expanding we’ll need you to manage more staff that come on board. Don't worry if you haven't got all the skills we require, we're looking more for a person who loves enjoys customer care and shares our values - we believe exercise should be fun, inclusive and friendly - but you don't have to be into fitness yourself. We would however like you to be ok working with detail (as the directors aren't!).

Role and what we’d like from you
You’ll be the main point of contact for our customers in regard to general queries, bookings and customer satisfaction.
You’ll manage our online booking system to ensure a smooth customer experience, adding events and bookings and helping us with customer retention strategies.
Streamlining our business by creating systems, processes and training manuals, plus ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and insurance requirements.
Working closely with instructors.
- Posting on our social media platforms.
Marketing, PR and customer retention.
Working with customers and instructors to ensure our scenic walks, workshops, courses and holidays run smoothly.
You'll be the support structure that keeps our company afloat!
Skills we are looking for
Excellent customer service and communication skills. You must enjoy dealing with the public as you will be the first point of contact.
You must enjoy being highly organised and have good attention to detail.
Good basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
- Good general computer literacy
You are happy to make decisions and are self-driven. You will be working closely with one of our owners and by yourself.
We may ask you to attend occasional ad-hoc events such as club socials or team training out of working hours.
15 hours per week Mon-Fri 9am – 12pm (start time flexible - 8.30 to 9.30am)
5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
This role could be either purely office based or part home/office based. Office is located on Gloucester Road, Bristol.
£10 per hour
The first 10 weeks will be a trial period. We'd like you to start anytime between now and September.

Nordic Walking Instructors Required
Nordic walking is becoming more and more popular in our wonderful city of Bristol, so we are always on the lookout for new instructors to join our friendly team.
Bristol Nordic Walking is the biggest NW club in the UK and offers group Nordic walks, 1-1’s, courses, longer scenic walks, NW challenges and trips throughout the UK and abroad. So if you are a level 2 or 3 fitness professional, have a fun outgoing personality, enjoy teaching outdoors and want another string to your bow we'd love to hear from you.
You will also need to attend a Nordic Walking Instructors course which you will need to fund, or we can pay and work out a repayment schedule through your upcoming walks. There are several training centres which run these (such as British Nordic Walking - see their course here).
