This is a wonderful 2.5 hour walk skirting the beautiful & diverse 150 acre estate of Tyntesfield and crossing into the pretty Wraxall valley. It's an opportunity to view Tyntesfield and the wider Belmont Hill from below and to see how the grand houses - Tyntesfield, Belmont and Backwell - all link up.
We will meet in the top right hand corner of the car park (as viewed from the entrance road when coming into the car park). The walk begins by heading south fields where you get a view of the spectacular Victorian Gothic revival mansion. It then crosses the road onto a good track which leads you to bubbling streams, wooden bridges and watercress. It is near this spot that the old Tyntesfield Victorian bathing pond was built. The loop back is through a pretty woodland path and into further woods before returning to the cars. This is an easy walk with a lovely country feel to it. There are no stiles to navigate and the walking underfoot is mostly good.
A cup of tea and slice of cake in the National Trust cafe is a nice way to finish if you want.
