Would you like to Shape Up?
Our second Shape Up course that finished in May was another resounding success with our walkers becoming slimmer, happier and armed for the future with a new healthy way of eating.
We are excited to announce booking is now open for our third course starting Friday July 27th.
In this course Mel Mackintosh, a practising GP, will be discussing the Blood Sugar Diet by Michael Mosely - low carb eating, how to improve your gut health, the benefits of fasting and low calorie eating. It is an educational rather than a target driven course (no weigh-ins required) and you can follow as much or as little of this way of eating that suits you. Following this plan has led Mel to lose an impressive amount of body fat and weight, her muscle mass has increased and she has become a firm fan of this way of eating so we'll look at the steps she took to get there and you’ll be able to ask any questions.
Here's how each 75 minute session will go:
9.30 - 10.45am every Friday. Meet at Ashton Court Mansion House cafe at the bottom car park BS41 9JN.
Ashton Court has shorter and longer hills, both of which are excellent for increasing metabolism, burning fat and improving your fitness, so we’ll be doing some of these throughout the session. You can go at the speed comfortable for you so don't worry if you are unfit, Mel will be there for direction and encouragment. We'll do two hills of 20 minutes throughout the session - 10 minutes up and 10 minutes down.
Then you'll sit down in our room in Ashton Court Mansion to discuss the topic for that particlular week. You'll also receive this info by email after the session.
The session will consist of approximately 45 minutes of Nordic walking and 30 minutes of discussion.
As previously stated you can follow as much or as little of this plan as you choose but as a group we will be there to support and motivate each other, plus we'll discuss the easiest ways to fit this healthy eating plan into our lives.
The course is 8 weeks long.
