Join Vicky on Friday 2nd August for a behind the scenes tour of M Shed, where you can encounter treasures from the city’s industrial and maritime past.
Like all museums the M Shed has much more in its collections than can ever be displayed at any one time. The L Shed, which adjoins M Shed, contains thousands of items from the industrial, maritime and social history collections, vividly brought to life by our volunteer guide. This fascinating tour gives you the opportunity to go behind the scenes and see huge pieces of machinery, delicate models and intriguing objects of all shapes and sizes which, one day, will have their turn on display. For example old Douglas Motorbikes, the old Lord Mayor’s coaches, ship models from the industrial maritime era, railway memorabilia and artefacts from Harveys Bristol Cream and Fry’s Chocolate manufacturing.
Partners and friends welcome. The tour will take approximately 45mins and there are some lovely café’s around the area for a drink afterwards.
Meet outside the M Shed - Princes Wharf, Wapping Rd, Bristol BS1 4RN, 10 minutes before tour, as payment to be made on entry
Please bring £5 on the day and book below as spaces are limited.
