Girona
Date:
Thursday 11th - Sunday 14th October 2018

Our first visit to Girona, Catalonia (Spain) was in October 2017.  It was so successful that we are running another almost identical trip in October 2018 for sixteen people.  If you’ve never visited Girona before, expect to find a vibrant city with a pretty historic quarter full of cobbled lanes, medieval walls, shops and churches.  We are staying right on the edge of the old quarter, near the river Onyar which slices through the heart of what is Catalonia’s second largest city.  We are therefore perfectly located for the cafes, shops and sightseeing - and time for all these activities has been built into the schedule.
The trips have been designed by Nordic Walking Girona who will look after us throughout, leading us through the beautiful Spanish countryside and acting as a tour guide in Girona and the towns that we visit.  We will be Nordic walking round the lake of Banyoles, the largest natural lake in Catalonia; visiting Besalu, a beautiful medieval town; and Nordic walking through the old volcano crater of La Crosa, one of the largest volcanoes in Europe.  Click here to see a short photo montage of our October 2017 trip.  Patsy Warn will be the Bristol Nordic Walking instructor in charge of this trip.

What some of of walkers from our lst trip said:

"Thank you for a fabulous, very well organized trip.  I felt there was a good balance of walking, sightseeing and free time.  Definitely I would recommend the trip to friends, it was very well thought out and planned."  Sarah

"It was lovely to visit a beautiful city, to stay very near the centre and be able to wander about the city with ease.  Having walks organised on Thursday evening and Sunday morning made what was essentially a three day trip feel very much longer; I felt as though I had been on a proper holiday!"  Polly

"My coeliac diet was superbly catered for with sensitivity.  I loved the food.  Cristina was very thoughtful too in keeping me informed."  Carmen
