We have some more wonderful short Nordic walking trips for you to enjoy next year including a new one – the Surrey Hills.  Please look under Longer walks/Events on our website for further details.  Bookings for both The Surrey Hills and the Falmouth trip will open 8pm this Tuesday 6th November

Here's a little more information on each trip, including the date for our next Girona visit:

The Surrey Hills Fri 9th- Sun 11th May 2019

Sixty years ago the Surrey Hills was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It offers some of south east England’s most beautiful and accessible countryside and none more so than Newlands Corner, which looks out majestically across fields, woods and rolling hills.  We will be staying in the village of Albury, nestled just below this magnificent viewpoint, for our walking weekend (the above photo is taken from Newlands Corner overlooking Albury).  Woods, heathland, picturesque villages, historic churches, and gunpowder mills will be on our walking routes over the couple of days.  Plus we will be visiting the award winning Silent Pool gin distillery for a guided tour and tasting, and finishing our Sunday walk at a well known local National Garden Scheme Garden.  Click here for further details and prices.

Falmouth, Cornwall - Fri 21st - Sun 23rd June 2019

We all love Cornwall and earlier this year we organised our first Nordic walking weekend away to this beautiful part of the country. It was so successful that we have again teamed up with Kelly Bennett from Walk Kernow who is an expert on Cornwall to provide you with an exciting mix of stunning coastal walks and delicious food.  Falmouth is our base for the weekend, staying in the luxury Greenbank Hotel on the waterfront and overlooking the harbour.  Kelly will be leading the walks along with Marcus. Mawnan Smith, Porth Saxon beach, Rosemullion head, St Agnes cove and Perranporth are just some of the places you’ll be visiting plus there’ll be a fine three course dinner on Saturday night and pub/café lunch stops on Saturday and Sunday.  Click here for photos from our last trip.

Girona Thur 17th - Sun 20th October 2019

Our recent Girona trips have been hugely popular so we are organising a further visit in October next year.  The trip has been designed by Nordic Walking Girona who will look after us throughout.  Patsy will once again be in charge and you will be staying in the hotel Peninsular, in the centre of Girona.  The trip begins with a local walk from the hotel into the Saint Daniel Valley, finishing at a characterful restaurant on the edge of the valley.  On Friday Nordic Walking Girona will take you to Banyoles to walk round the largest lake in Catelonia, followed by a visit to the medeival town of Besalu.

On Saturday you will walk with some of the Nordic Walking Girona club members through woods, fields and an ancient volcano crater, finishing at a local museuam café for a traditional paella lunch.  If you’re not yet tempted, talk to those who have already been – here’s one of our walker’s comments from our most recent trip: “The place was lovely, hotel very comfy and central. It was well organised (so relaxing), the weather was rather great, food and wine delicious, lovely outings and walks, very friendly guests. The NWG people were brilliant, and Patsy looked after us very well, it was very relaxing and most enjoyable.”  Click here for photos from our last trip. Bookings will be open soon.
